Why Ten Days of Notice Matters

A hearing notice is only useful if the materials arrive in time to read them. Over the past year, several ordinances affecting property owners were posted with packets available only seventy-two hours before the vote.

We are asking the Town to adopt a simple standing policy: ten days of notice, written comment accepted through the vote, and a one-page plain-language summary attached to every ordinance that changes what owners may do with their property.

This is not a partisan ask. Longer notice produces better ordinances, fewer amendments after adoption, and less litigation.
