We Are 1CB, And We're Asking You to Vote NO

There is a version of this conversation that pits neighbor against neighbor: full-time versus part-time, local versus visitor, us versus them. We are not interested in that version.

1CB is full-time residents and second homeowners working together. Full-time residents are leading this effort. Second homeowners are following that lead and supporting however they can.

Our ask is simple: **vote NO on the second-home tax this November.**

**Voters already answered this question.** In 2021, this community considered a tax on homes that are not occupied year-round and rejected it. Nothing about the underlying arithmetic has improved since.

**This tax is not enough of a fix.** The town's budget challenges are real, and they are bigger than what this measure would raise. Passing it lets the harder work slide, and the next ask will come to full-time residents.

**Town culture thrives when we come together.** Crested Butte has always solved hard things at the potluck table, not by drawing lines between people who love the same place.

We would rather spend this fall talking about how to creatively solve the budget than about which of our neighbors should pay for it.
